Forum Energy Metals Corp. and Traction Uranium Corp. have announced the commencement of a helicopter-borne MobileMT survey on Forum’s Grease River Project in Saskatchewan’s Athabasca Basin. The survey, being conducted by Expert Geophysics, aims to resolve conductors and fault zones to a greater depth for future drill targeting.
The survey will cover a total of 1,781 line-km at a 100-meter line spacing, collecting high-resolution magnetic and VLF data over the entire 10,528-hectare Grease River claims along the Grease River Shear Zone. This survey comes after the Xcite™ Time Domain Electromagnetic System flown in 2023 did not fully image certain structures due to a shallow conductive layer in the Athabasca sandstone.
The data collected from the survey is expected to be delivered within eight weeks and will be interpreted for follow-up exploration. The high-resolution magnetic data will be crucial in highlighting important fault zones or corridors that could potentially host uranium mineralization.
Traction Uranium Corp. holds an option to acquire up to a 51% interest in the Grease River Project by meeting certain requirements by December 31, 2025. They also have the option to earn up to 100% interest by December 31, 2028.
The MobileMT survey utilizes advanced airborne electromagnetics technology to identify subsurface variations in electrical resistivity. This cutting-edge technology will provide valuable insights for future exploration and potential resource discovery in the Athabasca Basin.
The Grease River Project, situated along the north-central margin of the Athabasca Basin, holds significant potential for uncovering high-grade uranium deposits.
