NEW DELHI: Power shares closed lower in the Thursday’s session.

Transmission(up 1.69%), Jaiprakash Power Ventures(up 1.30%), NLC India(up 1.18%), NHPC(up 1.07%), Reliance Power(up 0.92%), Energy Development Company(up 0.84%), PTC India(up 0.59%), KEC International(up 0.47%) and Indo Tech Transformers(up 0.24%) stood among the top gainers.

Inox Wind Energy(down 3.40%), Inox wind(down 3.00%), Karma Energy(down 2.94%), Jyoti Structures(down 2.85%), Adani Power(down 2.79%), JSW Energy(down 2.73%), Suzlon Energy(down 2.16%), Adani Transmissions(down 2.10%), Voltamp Transformers(down 2.00%) and Indowind Energy(down 1.86%) were among the top losers of the day.

The NSE Nifty50 index ended 109.25 points down at 17014.35, while the 30-share BSE Sensex closed down 390.58 points at 57235.33.

HCL Technologies(up 3.16%), Sun Pharmaceutical Industries(up 1.34%), Coal India(up 1.06%), Tata Motors(up 0.62%), Britannia Industries(up 0.57%), Grasim Industries(up 0.48%), Eicher Motors(up 0.38%), Hindalco Industries(up 0.34%), Dr Reddys Laboratories(up 0.32%) and Reliance Industries(up 0.32%) stood among the top gainers in the Nifty pack.

On the other hand, Wipro(down 7.07%), Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone(down 2.38%), State Bank of India(down 2.31%), SBI Life(down 2.0%), Larsen & Toubro(down 1.84%), ICICI Bank(down 1.7%), UPL Ltd(down 1.44%), Asian Paints(down 1.21%), HDFC Bank(down 1.15%) and Oil & Natural Gas Corporation(down 1.14%) closed in the red.
